3 Groom Wedding Speech Tips

Hi! I'm David, Marry's newly husband and in this blog I'll try to show you the best tips that I've found in the last 6 months that preceded our wedding, tips that helped me write a "super-cool" groom wedding speech and if you don't believe me, ask my wife, Marry, or everybody else that was present at the wedding (I'll upload later some pictures) and they'll all tell you that my speech was pretty good and quite funny, I mean, her dad laughed for 2 hours at one of my jokes and trust me, he's not a funny guy. So I plan to offer you through this blog some nice groom wedding speech examples and ideas for your toast.

Groom Wedding Speech

So now I'll start by showing you the 3 basic and powerful groom wedding speech tips that will help you create an outstanding speech, that everyone will remember with pleasure and admiration.

1. Take time to compose your wedding speech

The first of the groom speech tips and the most important one says that, in order to get an unforgettable speech, you should allocate an important amount of time to creating it. It is advisable to begin thinking to your speech with at least a week before the wedding.

This is because the best wedding speeches are a sort of masterpieces, whose creation needs a lot of time. Another reason for which you should spend some time with your speech is that you might need to adapt it according to your future wife's suggestions or because you might consider your mother or father wedding speeches - if they want to speak at the ceremony.

If there are only a few days until the wedding and you don't have a speech yet, don't worry: you will find on my blog all you need to know to make a memorable speech in no time. In this blog I offer you many interesting groom speech examples, tips and valuable resources, that will help you compose your toast very fast.

2. Plan ahead your groom wedding speech

According to the second of the wedding speech tips, if you want to have one of the best wedding toasts, you must prepare your speech thoroughly. This means that you must establish a plan or a blueprint of your speech composition process, before you even begin to search on the Internet about this subject. You must have a clear picture of how this whole process will look like, even before you dive into it. In this way, you won't loose no time and the chances to get one of the best wedding speeches will increase significantly.

Believe me, the simple act of planning ahead can save you even a half of the time that you would have spent creating the speech without a plan. In order to help you in this process of planification, I created this blog, where I present you many useful blueprints and tips for creating the best bride and groom wedding speech.

3. The groom speech must be simple

The requirement included in the third of the groom wedding speech tips is that you must keep your speech simple. You should not complicate yourself in your attempt to create the perfect speech. It's advisable that you use your own words to express the ideas that you want to communicate. I know that all the grooms want to create a powerful impression with their speech, but don't forget: a sincere and clear message will impress your audience more than anything else!

Groom Speech Structure

Here is a general idea of how you should structure your speech:

1) First, you should start with a general "Thank you!" for all the people present to the ceremony. This should be something short, as an introduction to the speech. Also, remember to thank for the wedding gifts.

2) Then, thank to your bride for marrying you, then say a few words about how you met, why do you love her and what are your plans, in big lines, for the future, together.

3) Then, thank to the bride's parents, for raising such a great girl, for trusting you and agreeing you to marry her daughter.

4) Next you should thank to all the people that helped you organize and plan the wedding. Thanks the bridesmaids, the groomsmen and of course, the Best Man.

Eventually, you can finish your wedding toast with a joke or something funny, this will make people laugh and cheer the atmosphere.

Below you can find some groom wedding speech examples that can help you get an idea of how you can structure your speech.

1) Groom Speech Example 1

Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to thank you, on behalf of my wife and I, for coming today to be with us in this special day. It's a great feeling to be surrounded by all the people important for us, that care about us and are happy for us on this special day. We hope you enjoy it just as much as we are and we would like to thank you also for the nice wishes and for the presents.

Also, before I forget, I want to thank to my wonderful wife, of course (if you feel like the audience is in the mood for a joke, you can use this line). Darling, this is one of the happiest moments of my life and I don't think I can put into words what this moment means to me. (Now you say how important is this moment for you, how happy you are, and a short story about how you met.)

X and Y (parents of the bride), I would like to thank you for all the support, kindness and understanding you showed with us. I want you to know that I'll do my best yo make your daughter happy and I promise I'll take good care of her, no matter what.

Also, I would like to thank my parents who were very supportive of me. Thank you for raising me and offering me everything I wanted.

Last, but not least, I want to thank to everybody involved in this ceremony. The past weeks were very difficult for us, we had lots of things to do and without your help, this wedding wouldn't have been so extraordinary as it turns out to be.

I want to thank X, my Best Man, who is the one that introduced me to my wife x years ago. You did a great job, man, thanks! Also, the bridesmaids and groomsmen, thank you all for helping us with the setup of this event. I know we couldn't have done it without you.

In the end, I would like to thank myself for giving such a great speech, I never thought I can be so good with words :)

2) Groom Speech Example 2

I would like to start this speech by thanking everybody for coming today at this special event. For those of you wondering what's this I'm talking about, I'll give you a hint. It's our wedding!

In all seriousness, thank you all for being present here today, we are happy to share this special moment with all the people we love and all the people that loves us. Thanks also for the kind wishes and for the great presents.
